During the past decade I have had various jobs in broadcast news, everything from studio technician to newscast producer. I eventually made my way into the marketing department where I am currently a producer creating everything from news promos to social videos. Each time I took on a new role it was because I knew it would challenge me even more as well as teach me new skills and abilities. While I was working part-time I earned my Master's degree in Public Administration with a focus in nonprofit management. After a dozen years working in the news media industry, I believe that there are opportunities elsewhere that could use my experiences and education to really make a positive impact.
I found myself craving a different way to express my creativity outside the edit booth and get out from behind the camera so I joined Batalá Washington, an all-women Afro-Brazilian band that plays Samba-Reggae rhythms.
